Beautiful Rainy Friday

I woke at 6 AM this morning looked out my window, got up,  got dressed, and went for a long walk to my spot on the 10th street pier. It is a place that I have been exploring more and more as the school year goes by. These photo's are going to lead to another painting for my series (http://paulfiore.com/journeyandgeneration.html). Most people would probably consider this day to be horrible but I thought that it was one of the most beautiful I have seen in a long time. Between all of the soft and subtle light mixed in with the dramatic atmosphere of the weather and the many nuances of color it was simply amazing. I loved every minute of it. Even walking home soaking wet in the rain.

The painting is already there.

Drawings for ink class

My first real time using ink. Found this Japanese book at Strand book store and got inspired by the people to the east.

Some finished work

With school back under way I have not had a lot of time to put into my own work. However I still am devoting my time to it. Here is just a couple of finished ones. Much more on the way.
On of the barn doors in the Kuerner farm house. First finished piece of my homage to Andrew Wyeth.
Started this beast back in the summer. Brought it to school and finally got down to finishing it. Its a 42x60. My second largest work. Better photo to come.

Ellis Island Painting

A little late, but here it is!!! This is the first one in a series that I'm working on right now. Currently working on the second one and already planning many, many more.

60 degrees in January

 Interesting shot from the Highlines

Took a very long walk today with my new lens. Got a lot of new ideas for my next painting. Along with some other ideas for some new ones.
